The ball will open at 20:47 on 20th June with the main entrance at the Old Court gate. Queueing will open from 19:45, with the queue along the Queens’ College side of Queens’ Lane towards King’s, outside Old Court Gate.

Those who are resident in college will also have the option to enter the ball directly from their rooms via a system called “direct entry”. If you wish to use this then please check the relevant heading below.

Residents of the light side won’t be required to vacate their rooms on the day. If wanting to enter the ball directly, you will need to queue outside the porters’ lodge with all your guests from 17:00 (please do not arrive early) to be pre-validated between 17:30 and 19:00. You will then proceed to your room to remain there until the ball. You can then enter the ball through a gate by AA staircase at 20:47.

The dark side of college will be vacated by 14:30 on 20th June with all students required to leave. You will then be able to queue with all your guests from 17:00 (please do not arrive early) to re-enter the college through the porters’ lodge between 17:30 and 19:00. Tickets will be pre-validated, and you can then proceed directly to your room. At 20:47 when the ball opens, you will then be able to walk straight into the ball.

There will be an alumni drinks reception in the alumni room from 20:00. The main ball will open at 20:47.

For entry to the drinks reception, there will be a queue outside the porters’ lodge. This queue will open from 19:45 for entry to the drinks reception between 19:50 and 21:00.

If arriving later than this, entry will be through Old Court Gate. The queue will be along the Queens’ College side of Queens’ Lane towards King’s.

The dining meal will be at 19:45, with a drinks reception from 19:00.

There will be a queue set up outside the porters’ lodge from 18:45 for entry to the drinks reception and dinner.

The last entry for dining will be 19:45. If you arrive later than this then you will still be able to attend the ball, but will not be able to join the dining meal so should follow the above instructions for your ticket type.
